Re: wireless gtx460
Would this be of any use to people like us?

I imagine having an older computer with two of these in, peacefully humming along in my basement, beaming data back and forth to my laptop. Possible?
Cheers

Re: Do you ever use all 2GB of VRAM?
I confirm that the memory amount is really important when you render in high resolution, or use very detailed models.

Just a note though, graphics cards are fast-moving items, they get refreshed within 9-12 months cycle and prices are going down quickly. Not a good long-term ...

Re: 2.4 pre-beta speed improvement on 460 gtx
gtx 560 is wrong choice despite 2 gb version
gtx 580 is more powerfull then 2 x 460 (2x224 vs. 512)
check it: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=5046
not only one 580 is (as of now) more powerful than 2x 460 2GB but it is also more 'spacious' too with the 3GB ...

Re: My new system :D
Hello guys,
Today i have gotten my new system, funded by my grandapa. Let me first say that i am not spoiled in anyway. I didnt even ask for it, just like my current system he just went out and brought it for me. He is a very nice man.
Wait, you didn't even give him the spec? Wow, your grandpa ...

Palit announces GTX 580 3GB
Hi guys,
I know many have (not) expected the rumors/speculation of a 3GB (3072MB) GTX 480/580 to actually come true. Well we can safely forget 480 as the 580 is taking over. And then, this is as close as it gets:

Re: GTX470 benchmarks / comparison
you're right, the Zotac will eat up three slots. i can only use one of this paired with another two-slot card in my current rig...
Hmm, i thought with release 2.3 the 460 will already be closer to its full potential. i'm not doing any critical production atm so i can get away with 10-20% speed hit ...

Re: GTX470 benchmarks / comparison
Presently they will run about 2/3 speed of the 470.
It would be nice to think they can be made to do more work in the future but I wouldnt bank on it.
It seems they might need cuda 3.2 and some code optimisation in Octane.
Make your decision on the basis of heat, noise, power supply, memory size ...
