Re: I need help to understand render passes

Hi,

I've seen your message on Discord. Would you prefer to continue on Discord?

Regarding Octane Standalone, I've wrote Guides covering most aspects of Standalone . Let me know what is missing and I will add it ASAP!

Thank you very much! This looks very helpful.
I will try to reproduce what ...

Confused about which version / type of software I need

Hello,

I am really confused about which version of Octane Render I need to buy.
Years ago, I had purchased Octane Render 3 and there were no subscription models or GPU limited versions and whatnot.

When I look at the Otoy shop now, I cannot understand all the differences.
There is a rent and a ...

Re: Viewport Size

Hi Beppe,

I´m working with a current image resolution of 3500 x 3000, which is really big.
Everytime I want to render passes, I have to zoom out to a smaller resolution to see the complete image.
But when I zoom out, the viewport reset its resolution to a lower one than my selected 3500x3500.

The ...

Viewport Size

Hi,

how can I change the size of the viewport (stand alone) to the aspect ratio of the selected image resolution?
Analog in Photoshop (full size)

Thanks in advance

Re: How to render shadows only?

After investing some more time, I managed to isolate the shadows in my scene.

This thread can be closed, thank you.

Re: How to render shadows only?

Yes, I´ve studied this tutorial but I´m not able to reproduce the steps.
Its far too complicated for octane beginners.

As mentioned in my first post, I have a scene with only two objects. In the scene example of your link, there are over 20 different nodes..
I have no idea where to find an object ...

How to render shadows only?

Hi,

could someone please explain how to render only the shadows of a scene?

I have a simple obj. scene containing a floor and a cube. I want to make the two meshes invisible but keep the shadow of the cube active.
Is that possible?

Thank you
