Hello,
I am really confused about which version of Octane Render I need to buy.
Years ago, I had purchased Octane Render 3 and there were no subscription models or GPU limited versions and whatnot.
When I look at the Otoy shop now, I cannot understand all the differences.
There is a rent and a buy tab. When I look into the rent tab, there are 3 versions to choose from: Studio, Enterprise, Enterprise +
In the Buy tab, there is only one version, the Enterprise Box License. No mention of a Studio Version.
This is so confusing!!!
I am no Enterprise, I am a freelancer. So, If I want to buy a permanent license of the latest Octane Render software, what do I have to choose??
And what is this GPU limit about? I have my own graphics card in my pc and I don´t need any external GPU rendering or whatever this is.
So please, could someone explain to me what do I have to buy?
All I need is the newest Octane render standalone version along with the option to use it within my 3D program which is Modo (plugin version).
And as I already own Octane Render 3, isn´t there a way to just upgrade what I already have bought?
Confused about which version / type of software I need

Hi, and welcome back
Since we are pretty close to Black Friday, if possible, my suggestion is to wait one week before taking any decision.
There are always special offers during Black Friday.
ciao,
Beppe

Hi,
Joining beppe, waiting for blackfriday would be judicious.
For freelancer looking at a permanent license, it is the "buy" tab. Otherwise, rent (subscription), yearly or monthly.
There are detailed information about the two, on their respective pages. Both have some of their own advantages.

So now we no longer have the option for standalone? Is that correct?

It is not possible from some time.Tugpsx wrote:So now we no longer have the option for standalone? Is that correct?
Single Standalone license purchase has been removed since the introduction of Render-Node license, a couple of yeas ago.

Thanks for the info, but the system does allow for a charge related to upgrade of older versions.
Do we not have an option for standalone non-subscription anymore?

Guys, can you please help us out we are more than confused.
We do own a OctaneRender® Enterprise Standalone version and its to be used on two computers at the same time. We need to render stuff on a render service and used one of the licenses for the virtual machine but can not login to our software on our physical machine. We bought an additional Annual subscription today and hoped this would fix the issue but still no way to login to our physical machine.
So the subscription overview reads only one unlock left and we are afraid to unlock the remaining one as it might end in being logged out from all of our software. Can someone please help us by advising us which software combination we need to buy and WHERE to be able to use Octane on two machines at the same time?
Thanks for any advise,
Cheers, Stefanie

Hi Beppe,
thank you; we've figured this out ourselves after 4 hours of installing and de-installing the software... I don't understand why the "old" software package was extended when we needed the new software / key... But we've contacted the support - maybe they know.
Thanks anyways!
