Hi

Is it possible to get per-vertex color data from splines yet? This would particularly be helpful in x-particles where trail splines can change color based on certain criteria that would be very difficult to match with w-coordinate

Thanks!

There's not any attribute that contains color for vertexes of splines. xpTrail is a special object and latest build has support to read this data. See my example for that.

Thanks @aoktar!

Good to know that that's data that's specific to the xpTrails object and not the spline itself

Yes, do you know another method to paint splines?

You can change the display color of the spline. Redshift and Arnold can pull that data and you can feed it into the different channels.

It's not for vertex painting, and using many hair nodes are bottleneck for performance.
