What is difficult to understand?
The Octane Render Plugin crashes if there is a material in the C4d project file were the path of the Texture image file cannot be loaded or is missing.
I explan this in the post bevore with sample images.
The problem always occurs, this sucks!

What's hard? It's hard because it's not doing it on me, better to share some project which causes a problem or more log outputs.rclassenphoto wrote:@aoktar

Yes! I have the same problem, I have observed also that Octane Texture Manager report is not correct for some files paths but It report it's OK with green check. I observed that the crashes may be due to materials for which Octane indicated the path, but in reality it did not load the textures in the previews even if the reload is done.
The path that causes the crash refers to texture in the "asset" folder which is located in the "tex" folder which is located in the folder where the C4d file is located.
I found that to cause the crash is a material that has 4 textures 7565x8500 pxls, of which three are about 15-18 MB each and one of 2.29 MB, but on Octane Texture Manager it arise to 245 MB each!
I have used this material several times in the past without problems now, however, with the 2019.1.5 version it crashes.
I have to delete it without starting the Octane plugin otherwise if I try to delete it the program crashes.
Please take note that I have opened some fliles that are 6 month older and now it crasches as I try to render, it crashes also as I try to select some material. I am sure the problem is texture. If I delete all texture and then render no crashes occur.

Hello Ahmet, I seem to have the same problem as Augdalmo about scenes with big textures in them, it's quite weird, I never experienced this problem before.
Best,
Domenico
Best,

Could you send me the minimal scene with textures? It should generate the issues as you said. Also "c4doctanelog.txt" while all log outputs activated.augdalmo wrote:Hello Aoktarrclassenphoto wrote:@aoktar

Hello Aoktar.
I just now updated to 2019.1.5-R3 since the render farm I send my projects to uses 2019.1.5. Unfortunately now my project crashes the moment I send it to render. It seems to be a problem with my materials.
The scene rendered just fine after removing all materials. The moment I select more than a few, C4D crashes due to Octane. Everything seems to be fine in the Octane Texture Manager, after clicking all textures, all paths seem to be fine.
Octane also crashed when I tried removing some of these textures from the Octane Texture Manager. I did however notice that the texture manager says some textures are 256 MB when in reality they're about 30-50 MB. The moment I select the material containing these textures, octane.dll crashes along with C4D.
Please advise. This is a time sensitive project and the only way to get it rendered in time is to send to the render farm which unfortunately uses 2019.1.5.
I've attached my latest _BugReport.
UPDATE: Just to update. I have collected the whole project with Assets to my desktop. I reduced all 8K textures to 4K (which I'm not happy bout lol) and I changed all PSDs to PNGs. Checking the Octane Texture Manager now shows the proper sizes for the larger texture images. Sending the scene to render now loads properly. The problem is definitely with large 8K+ textures or perhaps reading file formats like PSDs. Or perhaps not having all the textures localized. Either way I got it to work but it would be great if you could look into this issue. There are times we do some macro shots within Cinema, so having those large textures really helps. Thanks in advance.

Crash is on Octane.dll, not a plugin issue. You may use out of core or optimise scene as you did. Probably out of resources of system.

Thanks for all the hard work, Aoktar.
I can´t seem to realize when it began: Octane inside C4D is not using my 3 gpus...
Why is that? I have enterprise license...
When I check the same settings inside Stand alone version, it works as it should.
