I'm very sorry and you should keep PMC kernel.Paolo Giandoso wrote:Umh, it is weird, I switched to PMC, parallelel samples like usual, caustic blur to 0, and while it does goes nice for volumetric in general (15 mins), the volume caustics are now goneIs it possible that they only work in PT?

If you can have long time then you should increase minimum ~120,000 samples per pixel for very good accuracy of caustics.
If you can't have long time then:
- you increase the scale of light área to blurrier caustics and to less samples per pixel.
or
- you may upgrade from your 1x GTX 970 to 4x GTX 980 Ti, sorry. NOTE: Currently, GTX 1080 isn't supported yet...

If you want animation then you may increase caustic blur to 0.01 or to 0.05 at PMC.

Which's the gemstone in your scene?Where can I find the dispersion coefficient of materials like glass? I only found it detailed for gemstones.
See viewtopic.php?f=6&t=51838 - my last message on mar 25th, 2016.

Unfortunately, lastest version of OR hasn't birefringence support yet for gemstones but few next years later.

NOTE: I'm sorry for bad english due to mute
