This is a comparison of the plug-in version and the stand-alone version. In the stand-alone version, FF8000 has been converted to (1.000,0.218, 0.000). However, it has been converted to (1.0,0.5,0.0) in plug-in version. For this reason, it does not seem to show the correct color.
It would be cause it has not been gamma correction. I expect that it will be fixed.

you are right; apparently the api takes the upper value (whatever this is) instead the rgb value - as the daz (=windows) color dialog sends plain rgb fractions (80 hex =~ 0.5), this indeed leads to a wrong color input. need to check that with otoy...

I'm glad someone called this out. I had gotten used to it and forgot. I haven't opened up the stand alone in so long that I never had a chance to get evidence I wasn't crazy. Thanks for reporting this.

thank you markus, but if fact the plugin is responsible for that; there is only a sRGB color picker from the host to input values, so i need to do the (missing) sRGB to linear calculation; currently testing it (so you can most probably scratch my post in the dev forum)...

should be fixed with the next update, which is expect to appear in*
sRGB is converted to linear internally, means the daz color picker input should result in similar colors in octane.

*) a short time; i know i said being ready last week already, but still have problems to fix the linking issue, and did find some more annoyances myself; like i.e. material sets for parts do generate all new materials for the whole figure (what was not the intention) - needs a bit more work than thought...
