Hi Guys,

I added a glossy reflective SSS material I created earlier.
You can find at Live DB. Organic/Skin under the name Reflective SSS.

Let me know if you come up with nice renders with it.

Cheers,

It works in Standalone but not in 3ds max. Hopefully i did everything right. In Standalone Light shines through, in 3ds not. Material looks simply Amazing! Tried it with a Ring - it look 1:1 lice cnc cutted Wax. Perfect :-)

Thanks guys

@cfrank78

I'll look into how it performs in max.
In the mean time be sure to check your scene scale cause SSS tends to work best in real life scales.
I usually try to create my mat library in standalone.
I'm also happy to see that my render is in Octane renders Facebook

cfrank78 Hi,

Apparently, there has been mess up with the scale conversion with octane and max simply because of unit setup.

But the solution is simple. You need to lower the Scale of the Scattering Medium down to 50-100 ish..
It will always vary depending on your scene scale...
You can see a very quick messy preview render from max as a proof as well :)

I also added two hdri environment, daylight lighting renders in Max.
