I wonder if there is any way to improve the refresh of the material slot as it is sooo slow compared to competitors..I mean reay annoying and I have a decent spec both GPU and CPU ( 2 x 1070 - i7 6850K 32GB )

same here. When I choose a material it takes 10-20 seconds sometimes to update or go through material options. It seems that octane 1.5 and even 2 was faster with material update and I have new titan xp pascal just for UI and it is not used for rendering.

it still feels slow. Opening material dialog and waiting 5-10 seconds to update. Clicking on material waiting 3-4 seconds for it to show settings, going through sub materials like mix same story. .I am using old fashion compact material i9-7900x, nvme and titan Xp I thought this should fly through

Hi guys,
I'm sorry about material editor issue, because it does not seem to happen in my case.
could you try this?:
1) connect your less performing graphics card to monitors, then 3dsMax> Render> Render Setup> Devide (tab)> inactivate that graphics card and apply.
2) try like in the screenshot.
Get back to you if anything changes, I would like to better understand this issue.

Hi Nildoe,
sure your right, my suggestion was not a workaround, but an attempt to understand what could cause this issue,
Coilbook shows issues using Multi/Sub-Object; is that issue with Multi/Sub-Object for you too?
