I got me some nice rust via gradient etc..
- materials mostly procedurals, attacted is the material library but for 3dsmax 2015 - usually doesn't work in lower version..

- now where is that implementation to upload to octane library - I could export this, but I don't want to be bothered with it

check this one

added the orbx file - the metal effect is dependable on object size, so if it is too small it will look wrong.. anyway

great texture works - especalliy the 'ball' - wow.

just a dumb question - could this be done in Sketchup?

which part - material or ball? - not sure about the ball there are some plugins that simulate some subdiv techniques
- also check out the original post i added the orbX file in .zip so you can check it out in octane

- the material looks worse on the octane material ball than mine - I am guessing because of the size of the material - also we obviously need a bit different material ball to test theese kinds of materials

- just discovered I accidentally made a bullet hole - so I guess this is how you could make quick bullet holes

It was the material it self I thought about.

Thanks - I will have a look at it :-)

I tried to add to metal to LiveDB, try and find under Non organic - Metal - Scratched edges metal red - I adjusted so octanes material ball looks better - but this thing is totally dependable on object size - try and test if it works.. I might start uploading some more materials

I made a laundry basket with your material. I think the scratched edges effect is awesome. Thanks.

I'd love to see what else you have. Procedurals are awesome.

- thanks for the feedback - I barely scratched the surface :)
- if this one worked OK - I'll probably try and upload more on the liveDB .. when I'm zoned in - like the classic lampshade material with darker edges - basically dirt texture (with invert on) on emmision
