Likely more ignorance than a bug, but my vertex color map is mapping incorrectly in the live viewer.

image: left = correct, right = incorrect

What is the correct workflow?

Yes, I tried the attribute node. (Followed a Silverwing tutorial)

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the scene.

Please have a look at this solution:

I have used the C4D "Convert Vertex Map" command to split the Vertex Color tag into three Vertex Map tags for R, G, B channels, then used a Channel merger node to reconnect the three float vertex maps into one:

Hi!

I just wanted to add to the conversation that I opened the example file from you Scott, and in the Vertex Color Tag I switched from "Vertex Colors - Polygon Points" to ""Vertex Colors - Points Only", and then it does work without the splitting and merging solution from Beppe.

However, there seems to be something odd going on. During my testing it randomly did not work, and I had to undo/redo the operation.

As another side note on Vertex Colors, I sometimes export models with vertex colors from 3DCoat, and OBJ works fine, whereas FBX tend to give me corrupted or problematic vertex colors.
Just thought I'd share my experiences in the matter.

Cheers
Andreas
