And yes, Standalone doesn't accept video assets, so it doesn't make any sense to develop a feature only from c4d plugin side, that doesn't work in OctaneRender ecosystem.

Thanks for the response. I do ArchViz on top of 3d tracked drone footage. The video files/footage is 4K 60fps and can sometimes be up to a minute or more. so having to convert all that footage to image sequences takes quite a bit of times, sometimes up to an hour and a ton of disk space. Being able to use video files would have been super convenient but I guess it ain't happening.

Ok, if converting to image sequence is not a valid option, better to render with alpha channel and compose in AE.
