Here is a release with various fixes and improvements.
For the next patch the focus will be Unreal 5.7, Octane 2026 and supporting meshlets and virtual texturing
Octane for Unreal Engine
Changes:
- Upgraded to Octane 2025.5
- Material preview rendering is now asynch, so UI is no longer sluggish in the octane mateiral editor
- Added a fallback node to the Octane to Unreal material converted for nodes that are not supported by the converter or unreal
- Added various node conversions for the Octane to Unreal mateiral converter
- Octane to Unreal mateiral converter now autoformats the created unreal material
- Octane to Unreal mateiral converter now has fewer redundant and duplicate nodes
- Fixed spline mesh issue where incorrect mesh was generated for octane
- Moving nodes in Octane Material Editor is now correctly saved always
- Fixed situation where the usage of vertex normal in materials could break in Octane
- Fixed Unreal to Octane material conversion crash
- Camera now works correctly when rendering out a sequence via the commandline
- Fixed MRQ crash
- RGB Image nodes now accept any type of texture instead of only texture2d
- Animated textures now work in octane materials
- Animated textures are now in the correct color space
- R32 float and ARGRf32 support for textures
