What about GPU 50.x load series performance?
This might confirm the issue reported by Nvidia. Could you try rolling back the drivers and check if you notice any improvement in GPU usage and render times?

Hi Paride,
I'll try soon and let you know. Can you please try to render the attached scene using slaves and see if you have slow render/eval times, low GPU load? Thank you

UPDATE: After converting tyflow particle chunks to mesh objects it took 5 frames (Around 8-10 min for slaves) to go from 30% load to 90% There are 15,000 chunks of different sizes so they are not instances. Does octane have hard time with lots of unique simple meshes? Ty is still slow if I dont convert

Hi coilbook,
Something doesn’t quite add up, could you show me the Octane properties settings from your original scene?

This is really a nightmare to adjust flames. You guys should rewrite to more simple settings.

My two 5090RTX also don't go up to 100% but no in terms of power consumption and heat. They consume mostly around 300 Watts per Card. But deliver full performance in terms of clocking.
In Furmark the go up to nearly 600 Watts power consumption.

The "internet" says it's because of the utilization of the different shaders and all the internal stuff. My performance is a bit faster as with my two 4090 RTX I had before. They also never pulled full power like a Benchmark. So I wouldn't care much about.

Hi Paride,

Why does VDB look so good but Phoenix FD simualted fire looks so bad and pixelated. This sample VDB you told me about looks great. How can we have the same for Phoenix FD fire? Same is with embergen it looks way better than phoenix fd.

I just checked up close and see zero pixels almost like it's a procedural flame. We need the same for Phoenix FD

here is another example why does phoenix fd smoke looks flat and black no matter what I change? In older octanes smoke used to look like smoke with layers and different thicknesses.

The scene is attached

You will see embergen renders nicely and phoenix black flat smoke. Same volume texture for both

here is additional info.

Phoenix native AUR and octane are having problem rendering proper smoke.

Phoenix output as vdb doesn't render natively inside phoenix grid and viewport is super slow

Also aligning octane vdb volume made with phoenix to phoenix grid is not easy

updated scene is attached here

+1 for the .AUR visualisation issue !

Everything is slower with the latest releases, opening Render Setup / Material Editor / Octane Camera takes so long, am I the only one ?

Yes. Especially the longer you work the slower everything gets. Material editor takes 10-20 sec to load every time
