Hello, guys! :)

VERY IMPORTANT for avoid any confusion due to weak precision of noises+colors of JPEG or of PNG image type:
-after completed rendering, should choose "EXR" image type with uncompressed, and with FP32 for insane color depth (this competes perfect true color at in the real life - much higher than 32-bit color depth) to save the rendered image;
- Free "GIMP" - Download here and open any EXR file.

//////////////////////

(( "Chess Procedural" scene :: these images below were rendered by my GeForce RTX 4090 GPU on OctaneRender 2025.2.1 Studio+ standalone ))

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-- Between 2 spp's (samples per pixel) numbers are same noise levels at 2 sun sizes --
Sun sizes.png
-- Between 2 exposure levels at 10k spp --
At square screen of 500 pixels@100% zoom:
exposure levels.png
-> -Formula- with normal exposure of 0.01 and human vision's exposure of 0.08:
exposure-human / exposure-normal x 10k-spp) = 80k-spp
-- Between 4 resolution screens at same noise+color level of caustics --
Resolution screens and zooms.png
(((
NOTE: Must use a GIMP program because OctaneRender gets bad antialising by wrong noise+color issue at less than 50% zoom:
12.5% zoom is an example.
Do NOT use PNG image for avoid any wrong noise+color!
)))
Rest each 2x higher resolution screens and 4x lower spp can compete the original 500-px for same noise levels of caustics but unfortunately...:
-> on OctaneRender (OR) standalone
8k/UHD-2 may require 16GB RAM system for few light scenes or 32GB for (almost) all scenes as 16k/UHD-4 requires 64GB for standard scenes;
-> on OR plugin for 3D creator software (eg: Blender, C4D...)
8k/UHD-2 requires 32GB system as 16k/UHD-4 64GB for standard or 128GB for few heavy scenes.
--If you can't render any scene at UHD-2 or UHD-4 on 32GB RAM system at our sun or at dot light source without "caustic blur", try to re-pick region for 2 or more laps of 1M spp without any reset after completed maximum 1M spp:
>>> But the disadvantage of PT kernel is appear very hardly any caustics from any laser light source because we do not allow to decrease the exposure level from original light level. But to solve this case, try to change the kernel to Photon Tracing but this kernel may not render any fixed caustics in fog nor any variable caustics** (on any glossy floor only with roughness of less than 0.3~0.4).
Hello, guys. :D
At 0.1 sun size on OctaneRender and on GIMP v3.x:
0.1x sun size at 8k-pixel@6.25% zoom.png
Amazing caustics is MAGIC for downscaled to 500x500 [email protected]% zoom* from 8k-pixel@100% zoom. :o :mrgreen:
* - should use GIMP to open EXR FP32 image.
Best regards. ;)
