Hi,
What are the best places to get octane houdini documentation, informations ?
Otoy documentation does not seem up to date (can't find some nodes, some procedure aren't described precisly enough).
Search on this forum does not always provide responses neither.
For example, I can't find a description of the parm node. Or it is complicated to figure out how octane deals with Houdini attributes for specific subjects (copy to point, instances pack for example). And so on. Searching on the web looks like a treasure hunt in a labyrinth with many obsolete or false paths when it comes to octane for houdini and it is very time consuming.
So, what are the best places to get precise and up to date informations ?

Currently the documentation is old and a good few things have changed since the plugin itself was taken over. I apologize and do want to update it soon with some proper examples for 2025.1 + but will still take some time.
For now the best place is to ask here or on Slack/Discord channels for what is no longer applicable in the docs. Parm is a term in Houdini and is a parameter in a Node, it isn't a node itself. This is Houdini-wide and not specific to Octane.
We do want to revisit the process at some point to improve the workflow.

About instancing I had found (it took some time) how to setup attributes.
Now I have to see if it is better to use octane scatter node or houdini system and how/if scatter node can manage houdini attributes (N, up, orient, pscale, etc ...).
And see how to deal with animated instances.
Maybe some more sample could save my time ? Anyway I'm on it.
