Hi! I am having a scanned 3D model with a wall thickness of 0,6mm ... once i put a specular shader on it (ior, 1,5 like silverwing suggested, PT, 64specdepth) it looks and behaves like glass .. with black borders inside creases. it also has massive glass like refractions. what can I do to make it look like plastic?? thanks guys

thanks! i did that in the beginning. other ideas? might be the thickness of the object?
A new, well molded acrylic object can look almost exactly like glass.

If you have OctaneRender 2022.x or newer version, we don't recommend "Fake Shadows" and you try:
- to change the render kernel to "Photon Tracing" (PHT),
- to check "Allow Caustics" for specular/universal material(s) (eg: glass, water...),
- to reduce "Photon Gathering Radius" for find the ideal focus of caustics at PHT kernel settings.
Happy rendering!
