Hello. Sorry, I don't have any Apple Mac desktop/laptop :) but...

...I've a GPU Zotac GeForce RTX 4090 Trinity non-OC@stock with GF 527.56WHQL driver running Windows 10 (operating system) and CPU Intel Core [email protected] and 2x16GB DDR4-3600 and I got 3 seconds (almost 40 MS/s) using OR 2022.1 :D but only up to 1002x602 resolution rendered :( due to "demo". lol ;)
NOTE: I'm sorry for bad english due to mute ;)

I know you couldn't resist :D

But, how much Power/Watt do you need for your beast while rendering?

I'm talking about the entire machine power consumption, not only the GPU.

Please consider that M1 Ultra Mac max power consumption is 215W.

I'm Rodrigo!??? No, but yes Ricardo Rodrigues or @nuno1980. :)

My GPU RTX 4090 got 270W and my PC system (CPU [email protected]...) 350~400W while benchmarking. My this GPU rendering got only
almost 45 ºC at full load during many minutes at my room of 17 ºC. :)

I was using Octane in C4D on my macbook metal fine but suddenly this file will no longer open, can anyone help explain why?

Not enough reason to change my setup just yet...

But with that said, I'm using RNDR a lot more lately, over rendering locally... the 14" M1 Max feels extremely nippy using the C4D studio plugin (compared to the i9 iMac on PR14 / with any of these egpu combos)... it's much quicker to export ORBX files, with smaller file sizes for RNDR... and lot faster to preview in the live viewer too.

There is a discrepancy between both M1 Max results. Both of them are 32 core machines, but I provided the 44 second result.

Upon further testing I was able to match the 40 second result by activating the "real time rendering" mode. Not sure if @m0dm0d used that mode, but its the only way I could get the time down from 43-44 seconds to 40.

If Real Time option is enabled, AI Denoiser is not performed so it must be disabled, it is also not available in PR14, so comparison with AMD is not fair.

I have removed the 40" result from the chart, and corrected the M1 base result:
