Is the Render Gallery "Background" render feature still being added?
The "Snap" option works great, but the Background render never finishes(I have to stop it manually, max samples are set very low, so it should only take a few seconds) and only creates a black thumbnail. The Background > Live Render option is set to "Octane".

Thanks so much again!
Yeah, the background renders works fine on our workstations.
Would you please send a sample scene? Also are you able to see the render command/task in the Scheduler?
Maybe the hbatch render needs to allow from the Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Defender Firewall\Allowed apps!
Please let us know if the hbatch is enabled!
cheers

Manually adding "hbatch.exe" to Windows Defender Firewall Allow list didn't make a difference.BK wrote: Hi Pete,

I don't see Background Renders showing up in the "Render Scheduler" for Karma or Octane like rendering from the USD Render ROP does.
Here's one of the scenes I was testing in, along with a screen capture (Background > Live Render > "Karma" Works correctly) -

It looks like the background render delegates defaults back to Karma each time I open the scene too.

Hi Pete,
Thanks again for the video and the file.
My apology, I totally misunderstood as Render to Disk in BG command.
It seems like Karma is set to default render so we need to R-click on the *Background* drop-down and select OctaneRender.
The **hQueue* shows an error code-166 on my workstation, however, the LiveViwer seems to work if we pick Octane.
We would get this hQueue command fixed asap!
cheers!!

Thanks for the reply! Do you have a test scene where the background live render works that I can try? I cannot get this to work for Octane; Karma works as expected.BK wrote: Hi Pete,

It is the same file you shared and we just changed the symbol<> to $F4 in the path.
We just noticed that the Octane viewport render process must be stopped before we run the live render.
Please find the video attached
cheers
