That's really great. Using XSI / Octane combo seems more and more like using one program.

Hi Guys,

I´m sorry for so many questions with topics that look so easy.

When I render my frame, the geometry of area light don´t appears to me.

Did I missing something to do?

Thanks

An information what the next version can do.
  • They will support the export of arealights as geometry.
  • The project path will be also stored in the octane.ini file.
  • I use the original normals from the instance shape for PointClouds and modified they. That has the effect, that the shape can have hard edges.
  • Maybe some speed improvements on exporting particles.

A newbie question,

For now, any tipe of light can´t be imported, that´s right?

No infinite, point or spot with or without area light can´t be exported to octane.

Am I right?

Thanks

Correct. You can replicate points and spots using emitters, but there is no way to easily translate a traditional light setup from a 3d package to Octane.
I don't even think anybody thought about doing it for an unbiased renderer before face mentioned the idea.
