The C4D Octane manual gave me this:
Your search for "AI denoiser" returned 0 result(s).
How do I render out AI DeNoised beauty?
Moderators: ChrisHekman, aoktar
It's the first thing listed…

Hi everyone,
Sorry but I relaunch the Hatsize7 thread :
"I can save the denoised beauty pass. My problem is with its alpha. It looks like it's burnt in.
If it's 8bit JPG, the background is black,if it's PNG, it's transparent, but then there is a black contour around the object.
So what I would like to have is the denoised beauty pass looking like the normal beauty pass, with background, so I can blend them in post, with the alpha channel saved in a separate file (used for both passes if needed)
The only way to work with this now is to use matting/defringe (1px) in PS or refine edge in AE on the denoised beauty pass."
I read the manual, but I didn't find any solution for this question
Can anyone help please ?

Hi,
please check if the Keep Environment option is enabled in the Kernel settings, and if yes, try to disable it.
ciao Beppe

Where can one find 'use desnoised beauty pass' in octane 2020? seems it has been removed from the main render settings.
It's still here, but disabled for sRGB buffer type.mapsandmachines wrote:Where can one find 'use desnoised beauty pass' in octane 2020? seems it has been removed from the main render settings.
Octane For Cinema 4D developer / 3d generalist
3930k / 16gb / 780ti + 1070/1080 / psu 1600w / numerous hw

It is hidden though. User can see it if "Color space" is changed different than sRGB. If it is checked and then sRGB is selected again user choice stays active but checkbox disappears. Why this simple UI problem is not solved idk.frankmci wrote:Don't worry, it's not just you. It was particularly confusing when you had to use the Octane Render Passes, but Ahmet has recently added a handy, but easily missed checkbox in Render Settings/Octane Renderer/Settings: just check the, "Use Denoised Beauty Pass," box (right below the Render Buffer Type dropdown) and assuming you have denoising set up in Octane Settings/CameraImager/Denoiser or your Octane Camera tag, you should be all set.feathers632 wrote:I must be dumb.
Cinema 4d, Render to picture viewer... Ticked any boxes relevant to rendering beauty passes but all it does is render out a standard non-AI grainy image!
Octane image viewer shows the AI DeNoise image...

It's done in purpose to avoid usage of because some inconsistency with sRGB. I'm going to bring it back again.Delizade wrote: It is hidden though.
