I have an attached file here comparing the textures..

The first photo at the left side is rendered using artlantis..

second at the right side was octane..

If you could help me how to render the "transparency", i think, with octane similar with the first image at the left.

Thanks... :D :D :D :D

Hi, you need a opacity map (black and white) in addition to the diffuse map to get the transparency for the hidden part.

On the material settings, you'll find the opacity tab, choose floatimage and select the corresponding map image, white part of the map will result in stransparency, you may also invert it if required.

Yeah, this is a known issue when using sunlight and opacity maps, this will be solved when the "MLT like" will be implemented, for now, you should live with it ;)

Yep, for the moment Octane doesn't transfer the texture's transparency onto the shadows...
We'll have to wait...

well...i am waiting eagerly for this..
we do exterior architecture scenes- and mostly use opacity maps..
hope it gets implemented soon..(not to mention 'alpha channel' too.. :) )

(but found octane sooo impressive- i couldnt wait to purchase it.. rather than waiting for these small issues to get resolved)
