Hi octane user,
i have try to do a grass field with megascans 3d plants in octane and Blender 2.8.... but somehow it's very slow.
I compared it to e-cycles and graswald. both are much faster even if the result is not necessarily the best.
i have used the "scatter plugin" from blendermarket: https://blendermarket.com/products/scatter
3:10min to 15:00min is a huge diffrent
Is there a solution to speed up the rendertime in octane?

There several ways to speed up render time.
Would you mind sharing your scene and/or your setting so we can take a look?
I've rendered this in less than 1 minute and 6 seconds (500 samples, no denoiser used - 2 RTX 2080 Ti cards):

Yes, if you could share your scene, I have both Graswald and the Scatter plugin. It would also be nice to know what your hardware is, GPU and driver version.

Scattered objects with alpha transparency can really slow down Octane renderings. The only cure for this at the moment i know is to enable RTX.
eg.
a scene rendered with 256 samples, scattered grass with alpha transparency takes:
RTX OFF:
42 sec
RTX OFF and alpha shadow off
36 sec
RTX ON alpha shadow off
10 sec
RTX ON
13 sec
