i noticed this behavior which is in all current versions of the octane plugin - at least on mac. if you copy an object with octane materials from one project and open a new project window/file and paste this object over there, it will be shown only with a "ghosted" outline. you need to save, close and reload the project file in order to get octane to calculate the opengl version of it. can this be fixed? it's quite annoying if your workflow includes a lot of copying from project to project like i do. maybe a hot key / command for forcing recalculation of selected object would do it as well.
Specs: Apple MacBook Pro M1 max 64GB 2TB, MacOS 12.5 / MacPro 5,1 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8G, MacOS 10.13.6 / Mac Pro 5,1 with AMD RX5700 8G, MacOS 12.3.1 / HP Z600 with NVIDIA 3060 RTX 12G, Windows 10 pro + Netstor GPU box, 4 x NVIDIA GTX 980ti 6G.
It doesn't happen on Windows versions, I'll check with osx too. Which version of C4D you're using and osx?3dworks wrote:i noticed this behavior which is in all current versions of the octane plugin - at least on mac. if you copy an object with octane materials from one project and open a new project window/file and paste this object over there, it will be shown only with a "ghosted" outline. you need to save, close and reload the project file in order to get octane to calculate the opengl version of it. can this be fixed? it's quite annoying if your workflow includes a lot of copying from project to project like i do. maybe a hot key / command for forcing recalculation of selected object would do it as well.

Weird, never seen that behavior under Mac, please, go to Apple menu, About this Mac, then press the System Report button, then go to menu File/Save, and share the resulting .spx file, thanks.
Please, also share a video capture that shows the issue, and a screenshot from c4doctane Settings/Others panel, thanks.
ciao Beppe

see screen capture. this is happening only when copy and pasting from more complex scenes, not from single objects scenes or with boxes etc.

Hi Markus,
thanks, now it is more clear.
This is happening because Live View is not active, and this is why I had never seen this behavior.
Please, go to c4doctane settings/Others, and disable the Alpha for OpenGL previews option: ciao Beppe
