Not really. Just needs to use numbers at end before extension. I cannot reproduce what you reported. Also there's not any changes about animated textures since many versions.

Hopefully the new media core in R19 will solve some this.

It's not about 3rd parties at least not for Octane. I'll don't think there's a problem on image sequences in problem until i see a good proof.

The biggest issue for me on this one is a lack of documentation regarding this topic in the manual. There seems to be a "best practices" workflow here that needs to be laid out in more detail in the docs.

Here's the current description on this node:

Hey guys,

I seem to be having a different issue, but related to animated textures nonetheless.

Octane sees my image sequence, however, I would like to be able to fix the frame shown for a certain period of time. In my example, I've got a display which I would like to change to different images at certain points during a shot. Inside the Image Texture Node's 'Shader' tab, there is an animatable property for the actual file path, but setting keyframes to different image files in there has no effect whatsoever. It only ever remembers the last file path you chose.

Then there are the 'Movie Start Frame' and 'Movie End Frame' properties in the 'Animation' tab, but once again, you cannot animate them (they only remember the last value you entered) even though they each possess an animation button.

Is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong?

How would one go about this most efficiently? It would be a shame, if I would have to do an entire sequence of still frames, only to make the switch happen, especially since it would reduce the ability to make changes live in Cinema 4D.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Could you please share your scene? I'm not sure what you try.

Hi Aoktar,

Thanks for the quick reply. Sure, here is a link to the scene:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zn69l4obm5lgt ... r.zip?dl=0

As you can see, there is the Visor_LED-Panel in there, with the VisorLED material attached.

Within the material, I want to be able to switch between different states of emission - in my case different 'eye shapes' - at will.

It seems like there should be a way to keyframe this, using step keyframes and linking to different image files OR specifying which of the images in the sequence to show via the Movie Start and End Frame properties.

Thanks for having a look.

Hi Aoktar,

Have you had a chance to look into that yet? Thanks for letting me know.

Easiest way to key your filenames or try sequences

Hi Aoktar,

I feel like a super noob now. On my Windows PC this works like a charm! Thanks a lot.

However, initially I tried this on my iMac at work (with an external GPU) and it wouldn't let me set keyframes for any of these parameters. Weird.

Is that a bug in Octane for Cinema 4D on a Mac? I've realised some crazy UI issues, when I have the Live Viewer running and I'm moving lights in the viewport etc.
