Hello,
Animated textures seem to not be working very well in the latest build. I've done all the steps required including trying and Image Texture and a Bitmap loading PNG or JPEG sequences from the projects TEX folder and setting the range to the range of the sequence. The texture either doesn't show up or doesn't animate. this is really driving me insane. Why doesn't this work?
Animated Textures Just Don't Work

Hi Monty,
please, check the numbering of the sequence, and could you share some screenshots of your settings?

The file names definitely had an impact. This seems a bit un-intelligent of Octane to not be able to sort out a file name. However I was taking a .mov with a numeric filename (ex. 12345.mov) and making a frame sequence (ex. 12345000.jpg-12345....jpg). Octane is interpreting this filename and considering all numerics in the filename when calculating the frame range. No other software acts like this so it was a bit of a surprise. Now the only numerics in my file name are the frame numbers (ex. Movie_000.jpg - Movie_....jpg)

It's same as C4D does but sequence detection is custom code. So having double bunch of numberings that will cause wrong detection. What's your image names and range? Please post your scene.MontyVFX wrote:Still seems like there's an issue here. Does anyone have a resource, tutorial or something on this? The manual is very lean in regards to animated textures.

OK thanks Aoktar. I cannot post this texture unfortunately.
This information regarding sequence naming is not present in the manual.
However I have successfully and repeatedly loaded animation textures using EXRs in Range Mode with the correct numbers set. My filenames are Shot3_000001.exr - Shot3_000281.exr. This seems to work ok, but I still can't slip the shot in the node.

I don't need textures. Just show me filenames for non-working setup and your settings.MontyVFX wrote:OK thanks Aoktar. I cannot post this texture unfortunately.

I got them to work...
I tried forever in the Opacity channel and nothing worked.
I used it as image node for a mix and got it working
I made a folder for the images in the tex folder
Messed with the settings a bit
