I have applied unique materials to each object - that's what I did from the start. Unfortunately it's not helping so there must be something else going on with my approach or with the current exporter/release combo?

By the way.when in said the obj exporter i meant from the export menu. Not from the plug in.I have not been using that.It currently bombs out on me.If you have been using the export obj button within the plug in.Try the export of the file menu in max insted and use the .obj drop down from that.

Just verified - it is not working via the exporter but if I manually export the same meshes it imports fine into Octane - I just lose the camera that way.

Just had an idea. The Plug in was not working for me....that is untill i decided to try max 2010 - 32bit version rather than the 64bit version of max 2010.....IT works now.. There must be some incompatability using the plug in with the 64bit version. Not sure what.Still...at least it's working now.

eh... standard materials? note that vray materials (and mr i guess) are converted to a single default material when exported to obj.
