Hi,
Is it possible to crop an OBJ to create a section view in Octane Standalone?
If this is currently not possible in standalone, is it something which could be implemented in 3.07? I am hoping 6 clipping planes would allow for a complete section box.
Are there any other free/ not too expensive program which can import multiple OBJ and crop them for a section view?
Thanks,

Technically you could build a shader to do it... using the comparison nodes you could cancel out the alpha outside of the box I think. But that will definately impact performance plus it would have to plug into every material

Hi,
another option is to use the boolean air trick:

Hi azims,
the trick is to untick the Camera visibility option in the object layer, so it will be catted by the geometry with the BooleanAir material assigned.
Here is a similar scene in .orbx format: ciao beppe

Hi azims,
I have just figure out to have not saved the .orbx before posting, sorry.
The following file should be more clean: ciao beppe
