I want to upgrade my rig VERY soon but still waiting for the new octanebench to have a better grasp of what I should get
Is there any time estimation of when we will enjoy the new OctaneBench please?
Even a rough estimation would do please!
Thank you
Will Octanebench 3.06 come out now?

I must be getting blind!
For anyone as blind as me, it says it's the next thing that will happen in a few weeks

I do get that software developement always has some unforseen problems, but it is so typical for Otoy. If you can't hold a deadline, why are you talking about it in the first place? No offense, but get it done and release it... don't always hook up your customers with promises you can't keep anyway.

'Should be soon' isn't a date, it's an estimate in response to the user who created this topic. Some bugs can take weeks to fix if they are deep in the CUDA compiler stack. This is one of them. Given the importance of OB, its better to get this right.KeeWe wrote:I do get that software developement always has some unforseen problems, but it is so typical for Otoy. Quote from the linked Thread in #2 post here:
I don't critize the delay. Not at all, as I said... problems can and probably will come up. But to me it looks so typical. Announcing something, giving pretty detailed dates and then pushing it back week after week. I love Octane, but by now I don't even care for new features and promises anymore because they probably won't come in a reasonable timeframe anyway. 2 other examples: Altus denoiser (or a denoiser integration at all) which was mentioned over a year ago with the comment "we are in the touch with the Altus team, keep an eye on further infos." And then the topic went dead. Or ORC. I know, ORC is up but not in a production ready state.
As I said, no offense. It's just my impression I got since I am a customer.
Date posted: 14.04.The next step is the release of OctaneBench based on 3.06 in the next 1-2 weeks.
