Hi
I always have a problem .
if i render just use bump map. Its OK , Just use displace maps ,its be right.
But Bump + Displacement map .Its always render some issue. You will see model's wireframe. Its not smooth shading.

That's not a plugin issue. Try mix material trick and lower bump values.

Ive been struggling with this too.
I've tried the mix material 'trick' but still getting bizarre tiling/artefacting with my Normal map when displacement is used..

Has anyone actually figured out how to do this?
has version 3 fixed this?

It seems using different image formats doesn't make a difference at all.

So frustrated with this. :(

Hi red-juice,
sorry for the late answer, I have missed your post with the scene
Octane Displacement is different but it works, here is your scene revisited:

You have to enable Use displacement in the mix material and connect the normal map to the proper pin in both materials. Then set the Level of details at 2048, like the resolution of the disp texture, for better results.
If you use 32 bit displacement texture, you can have even better results ;)
ciao beppe

edit: it is very important to have correct uv unwrapped without overlapping with geometry more complex than a single plane.
