what is "Octane: generate material" and "Octane:Opengl Preview" in the statusbar ? can this be deativated?
i already tried deactivating use octane for opengl preview in settings. i also deactivated textures in viewport.
when i have a big scene with a lot of materials (200-300 materials) it takes a lot of time until all materials are generated and i cant really work in the scene at this time.
i can upload and send you a scene like this vie PM if you want oktar

These are messages about to show material preview/opengl texture generation. You can disable this optionally in LV->Options.fuchsundvogel wrote:what is "Octane: generate material" and "Octane:Opengl Preview" in the statusbar ? can this be deativated?

"- Fix: Ignored values of some imported textures from orbx/livedb."
1. Gradient node is not working correctly - "Start and end values" are not imported in c4d .
2. Emmision node - "Surface brightness" is ignored on import.

Hi Aoktar,
I noticed that with newest build the node editor sometimes behaves oddly when using a stylus. When I grab and pull a node somewhere it wouldn't let go of it until I left click with a mouse. I don't know whether that is related to a C4D/Windows/Octane bug, I'm just throwing it out there.
I just used the incredible scatter object for the first time to build a big patch of grass using vertex maps and black/white images to influence position and scale. It works incredibly stable and fast except for a few refresh delays within LV but when rendering it out to PV I get a completely different result. As if the parameters I changed within scatter object reset themselfs to default. I might have missed posts re this topic so apologies if you've heard this already a few times. Is this a known issue? Attached scene file I am trying to render.
Best
Dan

is there a way to avoid updates in LV when i switch scenes in c4d?
hello octane users & Aoktar,
first I need tell you that I love octane, but since long time I am disappointed by his instability with c4d. Specially in the editing materials. But anyway I thought it wasn't normal and that with regular update nothing changed.
and recently I've discovered the reason why I had so many problems with octane.
simply because my cinema4d was setting with French language and since I changed the language in English it is 100% stable.
finally I could work a whole day without problem, but before I had a crash every hour on average.
Am I the only french octane users to use?, I've never seen this problem on forums
I hope that my testimonial will serve to others and I hope these problems will be solved for the next set up to date by the master Aoktar.

Thanks. That's interesting feedback. I never thought that could give problems else of non-english filenames. But we have fixed any possible problems on non-english characters on filenames. I know some guys who work on non-english versions, mostly german language. But there is lot of users from France also. What's the versions are you talking?sodapop66 wrote:hello octane users & Aoktar,

Thanks. Some bugreport.zip can help also. Otherwise it's dicey. Btw i'm pretty sure about stability of plugin. Sometimes i can overlook somethings due lot of revisions on features, but it should be well generally.sodapop66 wrote:thanks Aoktar
