My problem is mesh/turbo smooth modifiers, does not update when octane viewport renders .
For example I have set my turbo smooth modifiers render iteration 2, when octane renders it doesn't apply the iteration 2 to the object
We need this feature, since our production files are huge, if we turn on turbo smooth modifiers on in view port it will be impossible to move
around in the viewport also crashes max in some cases.
I am wondering if there are anyway to work around it ?
Do I need to export the animation into standalone version and add smooth to it ? Can someone at 3dsmax plugin department help me with this ?
Thanks
Jimmy

As soon as you hit "render" you can´t move around in the viewport anyway, right?jim99 wrote:...... if we turn on turbo smooth modifiers on in view port it will be impossible to move around in the viewport .....

Select your object and in octane properties check "Movable proxy" and run octane viewport

You are right. Of course that works. But as far i understood, jim99`s question was about iterations at render time. (?)HHbomb wrote:Select your object and in octane properties check "Movable proxy" and run octane viewport

No my question is about Turbo smooth modifier / render iteration function - It should subdivide geometry only at render times which works with vray and all other renders
but not Octane, this is like a basic function in 3dsmax for fast previews when you are working in a complex scene.

Thank You Dom, we spend 1 week search forum for this function, it could be simply included in the manual ....
But it doesn't seems be to update on the fly. Once you set it, if you want to change render iteration again, you will have to on and off tubosmooth to update it.... It will be great to fix that issue..
