Hi there,

I thought displaying the object id id would be straight forward, but no matter what I do (and I did much!), all the objects have the same color. Any hints how to do it?

Thanks
Philipp

Nah, I have no idea. I was able to do it in the standalone, although I find it hard to believe that this has to be done manually whilst on other render applications this is standard and the color/id is assigned automatically.

Come on Octane, don't let me down now :?

Hi Philipp

You need to click the Live Geometry checkbox in the Geometry tab for each item in the scene, OR Settings->OctaneRender->Live Updating=All Meshes Live. Then each mesh will be a separate Mesh object in Octane and you can enable the Object Id pass and then select it from the Viewport render pass combo box.

Hi Paul,

sorry for the late reply. My second reply and your reply were nearly on the same time, so I only got one Email.

Ok, I tried both methods, tried it in several scenes, with blocks and normal objects, exported it to Octane standalone, but no, all objects have one id and are displayed in a dark red in Rhino and Octane sa. All the other passes work. Only the object id doesn't.

My Plugin Version is 2.23.2.37

Sooooo, help!! ;)

Hi Paul, me again :)

I got it working somehow, but not inside Rhino.

Setting the 'Live Update' Flag or through settings, and then saving as ocs and then going through each of the meshes, editing the properties and choosing single object instead of hide (which is set by default) I can have the correct object id's.

That cannot be the correct workflow, unless you want to make me crazy.

And why are colors always set randomly after each rerender? This is horrifying

What is you Settings->OctaneRender->Live Updating set to? Try it on All Meshes Live - that should work.

Nope, no go. Tried exporting as ocs again, but nothing new. I think I tried all possibilities now.

Attached is a screenshot showing it works - and the rhino scene from the screenshot. Perhaps that helps you?

Ok, that is totally different from what I have. It seems you have a newer version.

Edit: I have Rhino 5 x64 SR11

The version I am running is available as a preliminary test release at http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 3&start=10. I was certain you what you wanted to do that on the version you are running - but perhaps that is wrong, and if so, pls accept my apologies. Regardless, try 2.23.2.39 and see if it gives you what you need. I will migrate that version through to the main TEST release tomorrow.
