Yes, is there any chance to get the ICE compatible plugin? A client of mine needs a new version of an animation, and I'd like to do it in Octane. But I need to render it until Friday.

Yes.
I want to render ICE Points in Octane.
It is of primary importance for competition power of between GPU Renderers.
I think so. :!:

For rigid bodys, it doesn´t work correct while the calculation of the simulation is ever a little bit different so that the frames doesn´t match.
For that you should freeze the animation.

For Pointclouds, you should use the write to chache function, when the addon is out ;)

I found that, while Octane like to crash when i render a animation. About 3-5 times in 100 frames.
Maybe i can catch the freezes from Octane, kill the process and send the same data again to Octane, so that you can render a animation in one time, without to render skipped frames while Octane crashed.

thats right after 20 frames its crashing becouse all processes from export or something are not killed and they lack up the memory??

I got this problem :(
The problem is, that Octane uses time to shut down correctly.
I have added a 500ms delay for each gpu before i send the new data.
That should fix the problem ;)

A Note to ICE particles:
It runs with hundreds of points, but for larger counts, the export time will explode.
About 1minute for 25.000 particles on one core from a C2Q6600.
The export isn´t multithreaded.

Hm, there is no change in the addon.
The only think is, that you have a message in the script editor when you load the octane.exe

Don't know what to say, now it works, before there was a warning telling that it was the wrong version of octane, now, no problems =S

Hm, wired.
The background is, i check a byte in the executable, eg the 100th. This byte should be equal on every computer and not equal from Octane version to version.
Also i check 2 files, the 32 and the 64bit executable.
Maybe a share confilct with a variable which i use.
Or you have a programm running that change the executable ;)

I have problems with the ICE implementation...
The resulting normals are incorrect when you use the particle orientation and rotate the pointcloud.
