Hi

i'm currently working on a customer project. Today i discovered some artifacts on some of the surfaces. The models are simple subpatches with basic octane materials. No maps at all. The artifacts are looking like black lines from a certain distance. If i zoom in i can see through them ... much like clip maps. I tried several things to get rid of this error but nothing helped. (changed environment, surface setting to diffuse etc.,) Any idea what causes this issue? Thanks a lot!

Try adjusting the rayepsilon

Could be a scaling issue

100% tangent surfaces can give problems if the two surfaces
do not have an offset

Yes, please, try to adjust the ray epsilon parameter. If this doesn't fix the problem, please send to me a sample scene with this issue to test it here.

Changing the ray epsilon form 0.0001 to 0.000001 helped. Indeed i had to do some scaling to fit diffrent objects together in this scene.

Problem solved ... thanks for your help! :)
