Anyone have experience using network rendering along with the render que function with C4D?

From what I could tell it was not accessing network computers while rendering. Is this a limitation or am I doing something wrong

Thanks for any help or insight

hey bulwerk, sorry if this is completely off the mark but is this about octane's network render feature? do the other nodes in your local network have the required keys? when you have those, you then need to setup the slave daemons as in here.

I don't have any experians with C4D and Octane. But I did try Octane network render with Maya Batch render.
When rendering octane in Maya in the Render View I got the slaves to work. But when I try a batch render, my slave computer doesn't render. So maybe this is a problem with octane network render in all programs.

@ abreukers: Yes this is referring to Octanes Network render feature, not C4Ds "Netrender". The other nodes have proper keys and render daemons installed and are confirmed to be working. The network render feature works just fine if I render from within the C4D scene as most probably do. But I very often need to que lots of scenes to render overnight and thought that that C4D render que would be a great way to manage multiple jobs. But it appears that network rendering is broken when trying to do this.

This seems like a simple fix and would help tremendously!

Aoktar do you have any thoughts on the implementation of this?

Hi Aoktar,

This was enabled for those scenes. But when using the Que there seemed to be no slaves contributing.

Is this a limitation of Octane render in general?

There is no limitation, maybe a missing functionality. I didn't tested in render queue. what slaves does when you try to render in Picture viewer or Live Viewer?

The slaves work perfectly when using the Picture viewer & live viewer.

For me this would be a really good feature to have! Otherwise does anyone know how to batch render using network slaves?

You could try this plug-in

http://niklasrosenstein.de/tag/pv-render-queue/

it renders to the picture viewer

I'm using the latest version (2.05) and it all seems to work fine for me. I agree that it is a very important feature.
