The plugin sends to Octane the object mesh and Octane subdivide it at render time. In Layout you should have the not subdivided mesh, because if you subdivide the mesh in Layout and in Octane you are going to get a double subdivision. You can set the display and render subdivision levels to 0 in the object properties to be sure that you are sending to octane the base mesh without subdivisions.

I am aware we should send low poly object to Octane, I was wondering if we could send a displacement image map which would displace polygons in Octane after it gets subdivided ?

That seems to be how it works in Standalone.

How will the new network rendering feature work with lightwave? Still over LWSN? Can you say a few words about that? Thanks!

The system is not designed yet in the Lightwave plugin, but it is going to work like in Standalone. You don't need LWSN to work with the native Octane network rendering.

Hey Juanjo, i would like to request you once again for any possible way of getting the textured obj (with automatically assigned textures in node editor for octane)

This feature is going to save massive amount of time for many users.

thanks for all your hard work.
