I clutter all my maxfiles with models I need to put into each scene. So instead having small .max files I go with 300+ MB files all the time.

Without the feature scene-management is really a pain.
hmm. xref objects and also scene working fine here. maybe i misunderstand your problem.

why you call it fake?
"fake" isn't a good word
It is fake.
Not real caustic, fake caustic. It just works fine in some cased like flat window glasses.

ok I saw somewhere a test of architectural glass and caustics, a sort of mix between fake+real
is it possible to implement it?

Also I would like to see implemented a batch method to save passes.
When we do animations every time we have to render two times the job

A good way is to create a multilayer exr file if you don't want utilize the Max render passes method.
