In the 1.16 post, I have said this problem,1.16a still have the problem!

perhaps it would be better to use the previous version? 1.11 or 1.14?

Have tested and yes I also have this issue.
JimStar, rendering in the UI using the batch render command and verbose turned on simply outputs this
// Result: Rendering with OctaneRender®... //
// Result: Rendering Completed. See mayaRenderLog.txt for information. //
as renmaxhb has already stated.
I have also attached a txt file of the output from the command line in verbose mode. It doesn't really have any useful info either just an error statement that the render has failed.
