NEW FEATURES SINCE LAST RELEASE:
  • Added architectural glass as option "fake_shadows" in the specular material node
  • Improved direct light calculation in SSS materia
  • Improved accuracy of intersecting volumes with different IORs - as a side effect volumetric noises don't work anymore
  • New multi-threaded mesh compilation with better render performance and lower memory usage during compilation (/voxelization)
  • New dirt texture node
  • New panoramic camera options for Octane Camera
  • Improved daylight system
  • Black edges in glossy materials are fixed
  • Surfaces with a matte material hiding all objects behind, but are visible indirectly
  • GPU priority settings to reduce 3dsmax viewport lags.
This version requires video driver 301.42 or higher.

Limitations on old cards
The PMC kernel and the matte material options don't work on old graphics cards (GTX 2xx, compute model < 2.0).

Thanks!

What happened with the idea of giving us more parameters to tweak the sky?
Is it in your to-do list?
