@gabrielefx: The 2.58f render is faster because the object covers less pixels on the rendered image. You will see the number of megasamples per second go down if you zoom in.

Some texture is missed in your archive. Can you send it to us? So we will be sure we have exactly the same scene.
I did the Max archive within the 2.58f. Probably this old release didn't handle properly the texture directories.
I'll do another archive to see if the 3.03 get the the texture files from the assigned directories.

Regarding the speed I'll prepare 2 archives. The zoom factor in my examples it's slight different, I will save the 2 Max scenes with the same camera position and I'll measure the speed again.

has anybody tried instancing with particle flow using shape instance? I birthed 10000 trees but only get several (like 20) in octane live window and also render buffer. particle display is set to ticks but 100% visible. other render engines get all my particles transferred to with the same parameters...
cheers

Kepler card are about the same performance with the fermi cards. Maybe a little more or less. The real advantages are less power and lot more RAM for a lot less.

What driver version do you have now?
Did you read vesion description?
This version requires video driver 301.42 or higher.

Whoops - my account was deactivated, my bad, works OK - I guess there should be an error message when deactivated when opening a render window - that would solve that problem in the future
