Nothing new - just usual way to keep your images less noisy. It works for any unbiased render
1. Keep emitter away from geometry (if it's possible)
2. It's better to use single side geometry for emitter (normal is pointed to scene)
3. It's better to use diffuse material for reflector

Carl, its pritty simple.
The blue half circle is a lamp shader. So whenever that is present on the icons it measn there is a shader in play.
The yellow icons should speak for them self, they have clear shapes and arrows.

I thought about it when I was writing a post :) Yes, maybe it would be better to move it in the resource forum

Hm, I don't know what else I can tell about lights setup. Arrows show normals. Reflector is two sided geometry. That's all :)

I'll rename this thread to 'Indoor Area Lights / Emitters tips' and make it sticky in the resources forum.

Thnx,

Thanks for your research, This will help with simulating IES light effects in Octane.

Again thanks for sharing and the quick explanation of the icons.
