Re: Batch Render -- different issues?

I recently updated to 1.20, and while I can render single images, batch render does not work, writing in the log "Error: Octanerender is not activated!".

Edit:

This was a simple one. I had to deactivate both the plug in and the standalone, and activate them back, and now batch rendering is working ...

Re: texture emission node question

Thank you very much for the reply. I managed to get it working. I am surprised however by how low I have to set the power values to avoid getting fireflies everywhere. I guess I should do a level pass on my texture to tune them down. Are there guidelines? Also, power and sampling seem to do the same ...

Re: 1 Standalone and 2 Maya plugin - does it work?

I found out that to render, both the standalone and the plug in must be activated, so the answer to the topic seems to be: no.

1 Standalone and 2 Maya plugin - does it work?

I recently purchased 1 standalone and 1 maya plugin license. I would now like to render concurrently on a second machine. Do I need to purchase another standalone, or just eh plugin is sufficient?

I am in a time critical situation, so I would rather avoid messing up with the machine that is ...

Re: Batch Render -- different issues?

The only way I found to solve this problem was to change computer.

BTW, I haven't seen before those syntax error in your log. I wonder if that is due to using a GPU from the 600 family (new CUDA). If you have a machine with a 5X0 GPU , try with it.

Re: Batch Render -- different issues?

So guys I managed to make the batch renders test I wanted, but unfortunately I don't have a proper solution to offer you. My solution was simply to try on more machines until I found one that would work.

I tried on 4 different workstations:

1) (not working) With the first one, the plug-in would ...

Re: Batch Render -- different issues?

It's just ridiculous. Those kind of solution: disable firewall, check permissions on mayabatch.exe
I've tried it out even before posting on this forum.
I've even disabled all non Microsoft services on my machine and all startup items from msconfig.exe. After reboot I've tried out batch render ...

Re: Batch Render -- different issues?

So, the one more thing that may be checked - has the mayabatch.exe on your machines the same privileges as Maya.exe (e.g. for network access)?.. Perhaps some antivirus blocks it?..

I disabled the antivirus. I can see that both processes are launched with the same user credentials, and I tried ...

Re: White Dots as more samples are rendered?

These could be Fireflys. Fireflys are white dots that appear when you have too many reflective surfaces or too many white materials (being white, they reflect much more light than non white). Thing about fireflys, they are always 1 pixel. Your image seems very low resolution, unless you lowered it ...
