Hello!
Just to add my 0.02c
We've used Houdini with Deadline for years and years, back to Houdini 18.
Houdini FX/Core on the workstations and Engine on the Farm. Yes, it's not always optimal to be using Engine just boot the render up but in almost every case, the baking out of an ORBX file can ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.1 Alpha 1 [current 2026.1]
Hello,
Checking on the expected release cadence of 2026 builds?
We've got some Gaussian splatting work which I'd love to explore in Octane and my initial efforts didn't work so well - I'll ask a question below about that in case I've missed something in the current build.

Hi Ricky,
Ok I'll chase that up with Deadline.
How about the first thing I posted re: the Image File Path Prefixes not doing the usual Houdini thing and letting us use expressions which are expanded automatically ?

Separately, and I'm used to this getting swatted over to Deadline and ultimately my problem to solve is a problem on Linux.
Deadline sniffs out paths to convert from X:/ to /mnt to accommodate cross-platforms however fails to detect the Deep Image path - I don't know why, not sure how Octane ...

Re: OctaneRender 2023.1.2 for Houdini production (2023.1.2.1)
Hello again,
We're having some unexpected issues with this build in the ROP's image path not seeming to 'compute' the path from variables we're using in traditional Houdini fashion -
Our Image File prefix is : "X:/ElectricLensCo/SPS/JT24/Houdini/render/Shot_`padzero(2,ch("/obj/Settings/shot"))`/v ...

Re: OctaneRender 2023.1.2 for Houdini production (2023.1.2.1)
Apologies - I meant to do a follow up.
I didn't realise I needed to have Deep Image enabled on the Render Target. I'm new to Deep in Octane.
I guess the error popup could help clarify that Deep isn't enabled in the Render Target whereas it just say's it's 'not on' which confused me when I was ...

Re: OctaneRender 2023.1 for Houdini production (2023.1.0.2)
Yes, that's the case. Hython isn't picking up the plugin reliably even after a System reboot however swapping back to the older plugin has them working perfectly.
