I have a friend wanting to switch from Maya and curious if Prime will allow 3rd party render engines, I know it has some rendering features removed from the standard and physical engines but I cannot figure out if Octane would be a allowed.

A couple months ago there was a pdf with images showing what the difference in path term ray, filter size etc do but I cannot find it.

Does anyone have the link to that handy? Its a very useful reference to have.

I would like the ability to bake textures and lighting so that they can be imported as a color channel into a game engine such as Unity 3D or Unreal Engine 4.

Is anything like this on a short term / long term list?

Sometimes when my laptop is on battery it wont recognize the 880 as it is running on the intel graphics, on which octane will not work. This also seems to randomly occur when I plug my laptop in, it still uses the battery optimization limiting the CPU to 1 ghz and using the intel graphics.

I would see if you can find a Titan Z for ~ $1000, they hard to come by but I just saw one on Amazon for $900

I believe there is a vram leak with RC2. The longer I work more vram becomes unavailable despite my scene only being 27mb per the octane stats. I noticed this when it said my titan only had 1.6gb available, I closed Cinema 4D and immediately all vram became available.

I will test this more later ...
