Hi,
Here is a quick overview of what will be available with next Octane beta.
Water is made with bump
Trees, plants and leaves made using opacity maps (except background which is an image).
Original in 1024x800 rendered in about 22 min
Edit : Forgot to mention, it's lit with an hdr map

Good scene, the water is very cool looking (almost green, like natural water, not blue-ish pool water)
Nice vegetation, details (like the leave in the foreground + on the water)

Agree, its like the left part was directlighting and the right part was pathtracingjust the reed plants on the left back are a bit dark
I need to adjust my rating to something like
9.8/10
