Hello!
I have been trying to find a way to work in 3dsMax similar to what I have seen is possible in C4D, I understand Octane implementation is different in Different applications.
One of the main things that I feel I can't figure out ( or at least not in a simple and elegant way) is how to replicate something as simple as the Object/OctaneFogVolume.

It is so simple to use, and it already has prebuilt fields for Noises. One of the significant element Im missing is the "Edge Feather" option. This is so handy to have for instances where you want to have a nice gradient for Low ground fog.

( I have seen similar questions on the Blender forum from Master Berube viewtopic.php?f=32&t=79366&p=410205&hil ... be#p410205)

I would really appreciate it if someone could guide me to archive this same behaviour in 3dsmax, or provide any advice that could achieve similar results.

Hi leallolo,
You can use a Vectron geometry:

Thanks for the reply Paride4331
I don't fully understand. How does that simple box compare to the Octane fog volume? I guess you can take any mesh and apply and scattering medium to archive the rounded corners, but, My main question was how to easily archive something like the edge Feather in C4D. It is not just the roundedness of the corners but more of a gradient of density from the core to the edges like in the attached image.

Thanks again for any guidance.

Hi leallolo,
I apologize, I had forgotten the past, as mentioned by me in a post: "unit volume," a tool implemented in SDK version 2022. This way, you can overcome the limitation of 3ds Max not being able to create .vdb files natively.
