Hi guys,
I would like to know if volume displacement is supported in Octane for Houdini ?
I know it can be done in standalone and C4d but i am not sure on how to proceed in Houdini.
The C4D process :

basically i would like to shade particle with a volumetric shader to get perfect spherical volumetric sphere,
and then displace those sphere in object space to deform the sphere to get closer to a snow pattern.
basically i want to replicate the afterburn or binary alchemy workflow to create some snow.
binary alchemy shader that shade particle with displaced volumetric sphere :

afterburn for max, that can shade particles with octane volemtric displace.

Thanks for your help
Cheers

Volume displacement in Houdini ?

Here you go. I've attached a file.
It's pretty much the same process as standalone and C4D. There is no Octane Volume object like in C4D because that would be redundant. You can make the same thing with Houdini nodes. There are multiple ways of doing that but its a lot easier to just search how to create volumes inside Houdini than for me to explain. But basically you can either convert an object into a volume or you can convert particles into volumes. I've done both in the file i shared.

Thanks a lot for the very fast answer guys.
my bad it's great to see that octane for houdini can also do volumetric displacement.
here is a feature that can't be done in the other GPU engine that some of you know quite well here.
thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge galleon27 !
