Hi, this is my first time posting but I’ve been using octane for 5 years now and I’m loving it.
One thing I feel is missing is the ability to input data into the density channel for volumes. Forgive me if I’m missing something and this is possible somewhere. Also being able to use vectors for inputs like blenders vector math system would be game changing for me.
I’ve been trying to nail realistic planets but without the correct falloff of atmospheres it’s kind of hard to get it right.
Also why are displacement maps limited to 8k? 16k and up would be great.
FYI I’m aware of the planetary environment but that’s not a real 3D solution.

Thanks!

Hi,
Octane procedural texture nodes are working in 3D space, so you can use them in Absorption/Scattering to change the density of Volumes:

About Texture Displacement at 16k, please consider the VRAM consumption.

ciao,
