Hello, I have a sand/particle simulation of 1.5 million particles. It is a 10gb alembic file.
I am able to get fast results from the same file in standalone and in blender octane. Octane 2021 supports UVs for particles too which is great and can be made use of in standalone and would be nice if this could be done in C4D, but looking online I haven't found any proper solution.
So 1 - how should I import my alembic file? as particle geometry or as polygon object?
2 - Can I even use the "Cd" or any other particle data in c4d?
3 - is matrix + cloner juggling the only way? cause it makes the play back extremely slow as gives high render time as you're no longer rendering octane
instanced spheres but rather geo.
using R25 + Octane 2021

Scatter object should support matrix object. You may try to connect it as distribution

Importing the alembic as polygons adding it to matrix object and then adding matrix object to scatter works, but how would you add "Cd" information to it?aoktar wrote:Scatter object should support matrix object. You may try to connect it as distribution
Also using scatter has a limitation as there is no motion blur when using octane scatter.
All of this is seamless with standalone, octane instanced spheres, ability to read particle data. Can we even make use of all this in c4d together?
This is blender octane, octane sphere primitives rendering with motion blur on alembic particle file.
Can such an option be added to Octane c4d?

What's that? I'm not a H guy. Is it color data?
